We are pleased to announce that the DEinternational Egypt in cooperation with the German Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Egypt are preparing a market exploration trip in Jordan for a German delegation from 22-25 March 2021. This delegation is implemented in cooperation with MENA Business GmbH, the Jordan Chamber of Industry and Amman Chamber of Industry and financed by Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

The packaging industry in Jordan played a central role with the increase of the exports there. Pharmaceuticals and food industry represent the most important packaging sectors in Jordan as both are highly developed and serve not only the local but also the export market. Not only this, but also both are extremely subject to growth.

Jordan is considered a pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry in the MENA region since 1962 when the first production company was founded. The sector is in constant growth since then not only due to the existence of 17 companies now but also due to the high export rate of medications. (For example, in 2017 Jordan exported medication worth $ 708 million to different parts of the world)

Increase in the population goes hand in hand with the increase of the consumption of packaged food. So, the food market is extremely developing in Jordan but there’s a large room for improvement in the packaging styles so that the products would be attractively packaged.

The main objective of this delegation is to provide the German companies with a comprehensive insight of the business opportunities in Jordan in the field of packaging industry and identify potential business partners in that field for upcoming cooperation.
