In 1986, he took the lead in his family business, controlling the first private cable factory in EGYPT, Arab Cables Co., turning it into one of the largest worldwide-providers of integrated energy solutions with more than thirty production facilities in sixteen countries utilizing the qualities of more than 14,000 professionals and exporting a wide range of high quality & safe products to more than 110 countries around the world (Africa, Middle East, Europe and the Far East). My intention is to work with the board members on ways to develop the Egyptian-German economic relations in various commercial, industrial, and investment sectors, in addition to the renewable energy sector.

I am motivated to work on fostering regional cooperation and promoting greater business opportunities between Germany, Egypt, Middle East and Africa in the fields of investment, trade, vocational training education. Egypt has so many investment opportunities that can integrate well with advanced German value chains in many sectors such as the manufacturing and development of: electrical/electronic equipment, automotive and communications. I recognize the importance of remaining at the forefront of developing market needs, technologies and innovation, which is why I believe we should expand partnerships with leading academic, research and business institutions, with the aim of moving forward with trade, investments, education, and Technology Transfer for the mutual benefit and complementarity between Egyptian and German partners.

I was born in Cairo, in Al-Jamaliya district in 1960 as a member of Elaraby Family, so I was highly influenced by my father and uncles. I graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Department of Communications and Electronics, in 1982.

After graduating and during a long journey from work at Elaraby Group, I participated with my colleagues of managers and workers in penetrating the home appliances market in Egypt with many prominent international brands until I became, praise be to God, CEO of the group since 2016 till Present, thanks to what I learned from my father and uncles in terms of skills and values.

I have been following the activities of the Chamber for a long time, and I greatly appreciate the efforts made by members of companies and businessmen, and I look forward to adding my experiences and contributing to work as a member of the Chamber's Board of Directors for the benefit of the members.

I am looking for Egypt and the region to be a factory for Germany and all European countries, and to export their products there. I also look forward to settling German and European technology in Egypt in order to have the ability to compete with the upcoming Chinese tide through the Belt and Road Initiative.

Furthermore, because real estate represents 20% of Egypt's GDP and we spend more than 90% of our lives in buildings. From 2003 until 2009 I was also the Corporate Spokesman and during that time responsible for Corporate Communications. I studied Chemical Engineering at R.W. Mostafa El Bagoury

Company: Siemens Industrial LLC

Brief CV:
El-Bagoury was appointed CEO of Siemens Industry LLC in Egypt in 2020, after having served as CFO and as a Board Member of Siemens in Egypt since 2016.  In his current role, he sets overall strategy and oversees all business operations, aiming to contribute to the sustainability of Egypt’s economy. El-Bagoury has held other significant leadership roles at Siemens during almost two decades with the company. As Executive Vice-President of Finance for energy business units, he was instrumental in the signing of contracts worth 8 billion euro for three power plants to boost the country’s generating capacity. This project was project was one of the biggest in history for Siemens in Egypt.     El-Bagoury was born and is based in Cairo, Egypt. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration, Helwan University, and became a CPA (California State Board of Accountancy) in 2001.

Esteemed Members, As a long time executive at Siemens, I’ve had the privilege of delivering technology with purpose that has contributed to the development of Egypt’s industries, cities and economy. This has been fulfilling for me both personally and professionally, and I’m eager to support greater engagement between the German and Egyptian business communities. I’ve admired the work that the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce does in fostering this engagement, and would like to deepen my participation in these efforts by joining the AHK board of directors in Egypt. Sameh Sabry

Sameh Sabry, an Engineer and a holder of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, has 20 years of international experience in oil and gas industry in North Africa and Europe. Mr. Sabry’s latest position was the General Manager of DEA’s business in Algeria (2017-2018), where he managed (with partners) the start of production from DEA’s first gas project in Algeria. Mr. Sabry is extensively experienced in Egypt’s oil gas industry in both of upstream as well as downstream sectors. He assumes number of volunteer roles, including being the Chairman of the Egypt Oil & Gas committee (association of international oil and gas companies) as well as being the chairman of the Economic sub-committee in the Gas Industry Advisory Committee supporting the East Med Gas Forum countries. Since he joined Wintershall Dea in 2008, Mr. Sabry has assumed various positions in Egypt (2008-2011 and 2014-2017), latest was assuming the role of the Deputy General Manager in Egypt. as one of the biggest chemical german company, i would be proud to give the entire support to the AHK sharing the experience of a company like BASF in Egypt. I was Board Member from different AHK in Morocca, Algeria, Tunisa, Kazakshtan and with the other board members we could share our experiences as private companies in the countries and share also different cases and solutions and experiences with the AHK and us etc...

Yasser El Naggar

Ambassador Yasser Elnaggar is the Chairman of the Board for the Suez Cement Group of Companies - a subsidiary of Heidelberg Materials.  Elnaggar got his M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, his Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Development from the Netherlands, and his B.A. in Economics from Cairo University. Previously, Elnaggar served as CEO of the Chemical Industries Holding Company (CIHC). Prior to that, the Ambassador served as the Principal Deputy Minister of Investment. He also served as Principal Deputy Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform.  Ambassador Yasser Elnaggar has more than 25 years of experience as a career diplomat. From 2010 to 2014, Elnaggar served as the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Washington, DC.

My interest in the position of Board Member at the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce is based on the belief that the reputable entity can benefit from my unusually broad work experience and background.

The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce is a reputable organization that I have interacted with for some time now, and I admire the work you're doing in connecting and empowering the German companies based in Egypt.

With my vast experience as an advisor to policy makers, I can actively support your mission of representing the German industry in Egypt and acting as a liaison between policy makers and institutions between both countries.

Yasser Nagi

Yasser received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering for the American University in Cairo in 2000 and MBA at IESE Business School in Barcelona. Yasser joined different multinational companies like, Maersk, CEMEX, and Wilo and was responsible for different positions in various departments. Yasser was appointed as Managing Director of Wilo Egypt for two years then prompted to be Group Director MENA Region with its headquarters in Dubai & Managing Director UAE & Egypt.

Yusef Ahmed

I grew up between Germany and Egypt. After high school, I made my banking diploma with Deutsche Bank and studied International Business in Pforzheim, Monterrey, Madrid and Bangalore. Subsequently, I made my MBA (International Consulting), my Financial Analyst (CIIA) and became a Certified Stock Exchange Trader with Deutsche Börse Group. I worked for Baader Bank, Munich as advisor to the CEO in charge of the International Business and sat on the Board at GBCM in Muscat. In 2011, I set up my company FIC Frankfurt International. Furthermore, I am the Representative of the Frankfurt Financial Centre in the MENA.

Motivation for candidacy to become a Board Member of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce:
As the CEO and Founder of FIC Frankfurt International, I am advising both Egyptian and German decision makers in their business and investment aspirations between the two countries. Furthermore, I represent the Frankfurt Financial Center in the MENA-Region.

As a matter of fact, my history in connecting continents reaches back almost five decades: As the son of an Egyptian father and a German mother and as a former DEO student, I’ve been building bridges between Egypt and Germany since my childhood.

Having been a board member of the AHK for the last two years, I continue to be fully committed to playing an active role in contributing positively to the AHK and its members for the second term.
