10.11.2024

Last Thursday, 7th November 2024, our agriculture working group organized a workshop on “ The Role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Managing Pesticide Residues in Foods” in Alexandria.

The speaker of our workshop, Dr. Tarek Abd El Alim, Researcher- Central Agricultural Pesticide Laboratory held an informative presentation to our members, mainly exporters of fruits and vegetables to the European Union (EU).

Workshop Highlights:

  • Egyptian fruits and vegetables exported must track the pesticides used in their plants to ensure that they are in line with the EU’s policies.
  • The online RASFF portal, made by the EU, is a platform that shares alerts and information about food safety and risks.
  •  Egyptian exporters must keep track of the consuming habits of the population of the country they are exporting to.
