On December 3rd 2024, the TVET Department at AHK Egypt organized a roundtable on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Egypt at the Chamber’s premises. The event aimed to address challenges and explore evidence-based solutions for reform.
Opening remarks by Mona Ayoub, Director of AHK’s Vocational Education and Training Department, AHK Egypt, and Dr. Reham Rizk, Director of Egypt Impact Lab at J-PAL MENA, highlighted TVET priorities and the role of evidence in shaping policy.
The roundtable also included a presentation by Nayera Adly, Senior Policy Manager, J-PAL MENA and her team, in which they showcased findings on education and labor evidence, to emphasize how randomized evaluation can be used as a tool for effective reform.
Additionally, insights from the “Egypt Impact Lab” which is a collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MOETE), further supported the need for data-driven approaches in the TVET sector.
The event concluded with an open discussion, fostering collaboration among stakeholders to integrate evidence-based practices into TVET reform. This roundtable set the stage for advancing Egypt’s vocational education, aligning it with labor market demands
