The Competence Center Skills & Training at AHK Egypt is a strategic unit that brings together three core pillars: Vocational Education (TVET), Skilled Migration, and Corporate Training Services. Its overall goal is to develop and implement integrated service offerings that strengthen the skills base of the Egyptian workforce, support the needs of German and Egyptian companies, and contribute to economic cooperation between both countries.
1-Vocational Education (TVET)
The Competence Center implements and manages dual vocational education programs based on the German model, targeting Egyptian and German companies operating in Egypt. Activities include:
- Identifying industry-specific training needs
- Cooperating with local and international vocational training schools
- Establishing recognized certification structures (incl. "Zuständige Stelle")
- Moderating steering boards for TVET in Egypt and Jordan
- Advising government and industry on adopting and localizing the German dual system
- Conducting market analyses related to vocational training
2-Skilled Migration
The center develops and oversees programs to facilitate the migration of skilled Egyptian workers to Germany, aligning with legal, linguistic, and professional requirements. This includes:
- Building partnerships with German employers and Egyptian training providers
- Coordinating preparation programs for candidates (language, cultural, technical skills)
- Ensuring compliance with German migration frameworks
- Cooperating with authorities in both countries
3-Training Services
The Competence Center also designs and delivers customized training programs for companies in Egypt to improve internal processes, enhance workforce skills, or serve as employee incentive programs. This involves:
- Designing and managing professional development courses
- Building a network of local trainers and institutional partners
- Managing training-related curricula, certifications, and exams
- Ensuring high quality and financial viability of training services
Cross-Cutting Functions
Beyond its three core areas, the Competence Center is responsible for:
- Business development and stakeholder engagement (public and private)
- Joint service development across TVET, migration, and training
In Short:
The Competence Center Skills & Training is the AHK Egypt’s central hub for workforce development and capacity building, serving both local needs and international business partnerships. It connects talent, training, and technology – supporting companies, enabling skilled migration, and strengthening bilateral economic ties through professional education and human capital development.
