As part of its unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and reproductive health, Bayer is proud to announce a three-year extension of its strategic collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Egypt.
Launched in 2021, the partnership has already reached approximately 400,000 women with essential reproductive health and family planning information and services, exceeding initial targets. Building on this success, the collaboration will now continue through 2028, with a renewed focus on expanding access to underserved communities, the renewed partnership brings a substantial boost in funding, enabling UNFPA and Bayer to jointly pursue the following goals:
- Reach 810,000 women with family planning services and information during outreach family planning campaigns
- Ensuring 540,000 women receive modern contraceptive methods by 2028.
- Strengthen national and local healthcare systems to ensure the availability of quality reproductive health and family planning services
- Empower women to make informed reproductive choices and access essential counseling
We’re focusing on Upper Egypt and Frontier Governorates, where the need is greatest.
This extension supports Bayer’s “Health for all, Hunger for None” mission”, and our commitment to providing 100 million women in low- and middle-income countries with access to modern contraception by 2030 and UNFPA's vision of universal access to voluntary family planning.
In addition, it also contributes towards the UNFPA Strategic Plan (2022-2025) and reaching zero unmet need for family planning, thus contributing to UNFPA’s transformative results.
