On the occasion of Earth Day, Mercedes-Benz Egypt is proud to announce a new environmental collaboration with VeryNile, supporting large-scale efforts to reduce plastic pollution and promote sustainable recycling practices across the country.
Through this partnership, Mercedes-Benz Egypt will sponsor the collection and recycling of 30 tons of plastic waste from the Nile River throughout 2026, reinforcing the company’s commitment towards sustainability and its role as a responsible corporate citizen in Egypt.
This initiative comes at a remarkable moment for the brand, as Mercedes-Benz celebrates 140 Years of Innovation, a legacy built on pioneering mobility solutions and shaping the future of transportation. Marking this anniversary with a meaningful Earth Day contribution is a reflection of the company’s continued dedication to environmental progress and sustainable mobility in the decades ahead.
As part of the collaboration, Mercedes-Benz Egypt employees joined VeryNile volunteers in hands-on collection efforts, emphasizing the company’s belief that real change begins with collective action. The initiative also supports upcycling programs that convert recovered plastic into locally crafted products, helping generate economic opportunities for communities along the Nile.
Expressing her pride in the partnership, Stefanie Volz, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Egypt, stated: “Sustainability is a core pillar of our vision, both globally and here in Egypt. Our partnership with VeryNile reflects our commitment to protecting the environment, supporting local communities, and contributing to a cleaner, healthier Nile for future generations.”
With this collaboration, Mercedes-Benz Egypt strengthens its long-term sustainability agenda and sets the stage for continued environmental initiatives across 2026.
