MENA-Forum 2025

On 22nd May 2025, IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria brought in AHK representative from the MENA-Region, at the MENA Forum Bavaria 2025.

H.E. Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary at the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, delivered an opening speech on the importance of the MENA region and the potential it offers as a growing market for Germany’s economy. The forum’s program included multiple panel discussions and presentations.

Our CEO, Maren Diale-Schellschmidt , took part in the forum, where she presented a country pitch about Egypt.
She also moderated a panel discussion titled "MedTech meets MENA: Innovations for Growing Healthcare Markets" with three Bavarian companies who shared insights about their operations in the MENA region. The discussion featured an engaging exchange between the panelists, Dr. Christian Heuer, Managing Director, MMM Münchener Medizin Mechanik GmbH, Sandro Schmalzl, Managing Partner, HP Medizintechnik GmbH and Dr. Ali Tinazli, CEO, lifespin GmbH.

One of the key highlights from the panel was that all three companies expressed satisfaction with their business operations in the region and emphasized the strong growth potential. They also stressed that a crucial factor for success is that foreign companies demonstrate cultural understanding and sensitivity to the region.

We would like to thank the team of IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria for their hospitality and for organizing such an insightful and important event.
