A rocky path out of the crisis.

Key Results of the DIHK Economic Survey in Germany, Fall 2025

The DIHK has published is economic survey from fall 2025, reflecting the business situation and expectations of around 23,000 companies in Germany from all sectors and regions. The key message is that the road out of the crisis remains rocky.

On presenting the results, DIHK CEO Helena Melnikov stated: "Reforms are not yet reaching companies. They need to be more effective: costs must be reduced and the pace must be increased. The hoped-for turnaround has not materialized: the German economy continues to tread water. Pessimistic voices still predominate in companies.”

The DIHK sentiment index (the average of the assessment of the economic situation and business expectations of the companies surveyed) fell by one point to 93.8 points.
