On June 17, we had the pleasure of participating in the TECHfeMENA networking event at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, together with dedicated representatives from academia, industry, schools, and partner institutions. The event focused on reflecting on the experiences and achievements of the project while exploring how successful German-Egyptian partnerships can be further developed in the long term.
Together, we discussed topics such as skilled workforce development, international education pathways, women in STEM, and strengthening the connection between schools, universities, and industry. A particular focus was placed on integration through dual study programs, especially the Ulm Model, which offers significant benefits for both students and companies by combining academic education with practical work experience. One of the highlights of the event was the inspiring story of a graduate from the German School in Egypt, who shared her journey to securing a dual study position with ZwickRoell and Ulm University of Applied Sciences—an excellent example of the opportunities created through international educational cooperation.
