This year, we proudly brought that vision to life by launching our inaugural 2026 Summer Internship Program - a milestone initiative that underscores our commitment to youth empowerment, employer branding, and progressive workplace culture.
From University Partnerships to Corporate Impact
Our journey toward building a robust talent pipeline took a major leap forward following our strategic engagements at leading academic hubs, including successful recruitment efforts following the German University in Cairo (GUC) career fair. Moving seamlessly from talent acquisition to immersive integration, we translated our Employer Value Proposition (EVP) into a tangible reality.
We welcomed eight exceptional interns - spanning first-to-third-year university students - to drive meaningful projects across diverse corporate and industrial functions, including Marketing, People & Culture, Production, Supply Chain, Lab, and Maintenance Planning.
A Bold Step Forward for Industrial DEI
A cornerstone of this year’s summer program was our unwavering dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). For the very first time in our operations, Knauf Egypt proudly welcomed three talented female interns into core production roles at our Suez manufacturing plant.
By breaking traditional industry barriers on the plant floor, we are reshaping the narrative of manufacturing in Egypt. This initiative proves that industrial environments thrive on diverse perspectives, successfully integrating ambitious Gen Z talent and pioneering female representation into heavy manufacturing and technical operations.
An Immersive 8-Week Journey
Designed to move beyond shadowing, our 8-week summer program empowered interns to take full ownership of real-world business objectives.
- Comprehensive Onboarding: The program commenced with a rigorous two-day cross-functional and plant-floor orientation, giving participants a holistic view of our manufacturing and operational ecosystems.
- Mentorship & Growth: Guided closely by dedicated internal mentors, interns benefited from structured mid-point evaluations and mini-Personal Development Plan (PDP) sessions, ensuring continuous professional and personal growth.
- The Graduation Showcase: The program culminated in an inspiring three-hour graduation ceremony. Each intern delivered a comprehensive 10-minute presentation detailing their strategic projects, technical learnings, and valuable feedback, followed by certificate distributions and team celebrations.
