On 27th May, 2025, the AHK Egypt Logistics Working Group held a meeting with the General Directorate of Customs Valuation at the Egyptian Customs Authority at Alexandria Port to address key challenges related to the import of automotive and machinery components from Germany.

 

The discussion focused on the revaluation of used vehicles, the submission of selling price lists with part numbers, delays in shipment release during the appeal process, and the feasibility of the "Release Under Custody" system. The group also explored ways to improve coordination in appeal cases and clarified issues surrounding customs recognition of special discounts.

 

The meeting reflects the ongoing cooperation efforts between the private sector and customs authorities in enhancing import procedures and reducing operational burdens on businesses.
