The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Egypt) participated in the World Customs Organization (WCO) Event, held in Abu Dhabi from 27–31 January 2026.

The event brought together customs authorities and key stakeholders from the global logistics sector, providing a valuable platform to discuss best practices, innovation, and emerging trends shaping the future of customs and logistics.

AHK Egypt’s participation came within the framework of the Logistics Working Group initiatives, aimed at strengthening engagement with Egyptian, German, and international stakeholders operating across the logistics and customs ecosystem.

During the event, Ahmed Hisham, Logistics Working Group Project Manager at AHK Egypt, took part in several discussions with Mr. Ahmed Amawy, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, and Eng. Gamal Kotb, General Manager of MTS, as well as representatives from the German Customs Authority and the European Commission; the discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation and knowledge exchange, while also addressing the role of new technologies and digital solutions in supporting customs modernization and enhancing operational efficiency.

These exchanges also referred to the upcoming AHK Exclusive Logistics Event scheduled to take place this April, which aims to further connect public and private sector stakeholders within the logistics and customs sector.

Such engagements reaffirm the importance of international dialogue and collaboration in advancing efficient, transparent, and technology-driven customs and logistics ecosystems.
