On Sunday, 20th September, H.E. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, and his expert team hosted a roundtable for German industrial companies. The roundtable was attended by H.E. Jürgen Schulz, German Ambassador to Egypt, Eng. Mostafa El Bagoury, AHK President and CEO Siemens Egypt, Amir Riad AHK Deputy President and Vice President Bavaria Holding, and AHK CEO Maren Diale-Schellschmidt – as well as the CEOs of 9 further German manufacturing companies active in Egypt
During the roundtable, Eng. Mostafa El Bagoury highlighted that German companies have been operating in Egypt for more than 100 years and that German brands are held in high regard in the Egyptian market. He also highlighted the role of AHK Egypt in supporting German companies in transferring their technologies to the Egyptian market and creating new jobs, which has been part of the Chamber’s core activities throughout its 75-year history.
Bagoury Riad and Diale-Schellschmidt also discussed with the Minister of Industry ways to strengthen and further enhance cooperation in supporting German investment in Egypt, with a focus on attracting German companies in targeted sectors, with the aim of expanding their presence in the Egyptian market and, eventually, across the African market.
Additionally, all German companies had the individual opportunity to discuss their operations in Egypt with the Minister and his team.
