German business delegation titled "Sustainable Decarbonization Technologies for Industry"

On June 29, 2026, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Egypt) launched Day 1 of the German business delegation “Sustainable Decarbonization Technologies for Industry” in Cairo, focusing on energy-intensive sectors such as steel, cement, and fertilizers under the “Energy Solutions – made in Germany” program (BMWE). The event brought together Egyptian government officials, German technology providers, financial institutions like EBRD and KfW, and key industry stakeholders to discuss industrial decarbonization, green hydrogen, and sustainable transformation. Speakers highlighted Germany’s climate targets (carbon neutrality by 2045, 10 GW electrolysis by 2030) and Egypt’s goals (42% renewable energy by 2028, $145 billion exports, $60 billion FDI), alongside initiatives like “Shams El Senaa” to install solar panels on 7,000 factories.

Financial support mechanisms, CBAM adaptation, and the shift toward mandatory sustainability were emphasized, while German companies presented innovative technologies. The Egyptian Minister of Industry stressed technology transfer, local manufacturing, and practical implementation, and the day concluded with B2B meetings to translate discussions into concrete investments and strengthen Egyptian-German cooperation.

AHK Connect@5 Networking Event in Alexandria

As part of the ongoing initiatives of our AHK Egypt office in Alexandria, we organized our recent member networking event, Connect@5, on Monday, 11 May 2026 at the Hotel Hilton Alexandria Corniche.

The event brought together our member network in Alexandria across the different sectors, for an opportunity to network and connections.

AHK exclusive conference "Egypt – The Gateway to Global Trade | Connecting Continents Through Innovation" 

On May 5, 2026, AHK Egypt organized the exclusive conference “Egypt – The Gateway to Global Trade | Connecting Continents Through Innovation” in Cairo, bringing together ministers, international financial institutions, and private sector leaders to discuss transforming Egypt into a global logistics hub. Key speakers highlighted Egypt’s progress in logistics performance, infrastructure investments exceeding EGP 2 trillion, and reforms in customs, taxation, and digitalization to enhance trade efficiency. Strategic initiatives such as integrated logistics corridors, the Ro-Ro shipping line between Damietta and Trieste, and digital platforms like NAFEZA were presented as major drivers of growth. Discussions emphasized the importance of resilience, sustainability, CBAM adaptation, and public-private partnerships, alongside financing needs and private sector involvement. The conference also showcased Egypt’s competitive advantages, including its geographic location and growing infrastructure, while stressing the need for deeper digital transformation and regulatory alignment. It concluded by reaffirming Egypt’s potential to become a leading regional and global trade hub supported by strong international cooperation and investment.

Agri-Dialogue 2026 

On January 19, 2026, AHK Egypt organized the “Agri-Dialogue 2026” roundtable in Cairo, launching a joint initiative with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation to modernize Egypt’s agricultural cooperative system using German expertise. The event gathered government officials, international organizations, and private sector leaders to discuss transforming cooperatives into effective economic entities that support farmers, improve productivity, and strengthen value chains. Key discussions focused on legal reform, financing, reducing intermediaries, and adopting the successful German cooperative model. The dialogue also included practical next steps such as field assessments and policy recommendations, aiming to enhance food security, increase farmers’ income, and position cooperatives as a driver of sustainable agricultural development in Egypt.

Executive Insight: AI Leadership & Industrial Transformation in Egypt

On November 25, 2025, an executive panel at the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Egypt) during the NextGen Industry event discussed how AI is reshaping Egypt’s economy and supporting Egypt Vision 2030. The discussion emphasized that successful AI adoption depends on leadership mindset as much as technology, with key priorities including continuous workforce upskilling, reliable data, modern digital infrastructure, and the strategic integration of AI into business operations. Participants also highlighted the importance of measuring AI through indicators such as ROI, productivity, energy efficiency, cost reduction, reduced downtime, and the growth of AI-driven startups and industrial applications in Egypt. Overall, AI was presented as a key driver of industrial competitiveness, with organizations that invest early in talent, data, infrastructure, and strategic AI adoption expected to gain a long-term competitive advantage.

Egyptian-German Business Forum 2025

On 25–26 September 2025, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Egypt) organized a two-day business forum in Munich and Frankfurt, bringing together senior Egyptian government officials, AHK Egypt representatives, and leading Egyptian companies to strengthen economic cooperation with the German business community. Led by Eng. Ahmed El-Sewedy, the delegation included Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, SCZone Chairman Waleid Gamal Eldien, Egypt’s Ambassador to Germany Dr. Mohamed Abd El-Sattar Elbadri, and other senior business leaders. Discussions focused on Egypt’s investment opportunities, its ambition to become a production and export hub for German companies, and the SCZone’s strategic advantages, including six seaports, four integrated industrial and logistics zones, advanced infrastructure, and access to markets of nearly two billion consumers through Egypt’s FTAs. Egyptian officials encouraged German investment and technology transfer, while German companies expressed strong interest in opportunities in Egypt and the SCZone. The forum also included bilateral business meetings and high-level meetings with the Hessian and Bavarian Ministers for Economic Affairs to further strengthen Egyptian-German cooperation.
